Custom airbrush
Franz , born in the 60s, came to the profession of artist and illustrator on extremely unusual paths.
As a professional drummer who drew on the side, he came to New York in 1989, drummed there for 6 months and attracted the attention of a producer in Los Angeles not so much through his music as through a comic book he created for his band. So he came to Hollywood in 1990 and turned his profession into a hobby and vice versa.
He learned the freehand airbrush technique in a specialty store on Santa Monica Boulevard and conjured up portraits and other motifs on oversized cakes using airbrush and food coloring...after a short time, record companies, film studios and Hollywood celebrities were among his regular customers.
He deepened his airbrush skills at several "Airbrush Action Getaway" workshops in Phoenix, Anaheim and New York and studied art and design at LACC and "Macromedia Director for Macintosh" at UCLA. Countless illustrations on T-shirts, leather jackets, CDs, facades, cars, etc. followed, as well as various comics, cartoons and portrait works.
In 1994, the artist returned to Europe, lives and works today (after a 14-year stay in Lorraine) back in Saarland, both as an illustrator, muralist, commission and airbrush artist and as a drummer (of course!).
